Northbound I-35 Barnum unbonded overlay

Traffic impacts

  • On the evening of Thursday, July 7, I-35 northbound traffic near Barnum will be switched over to the southbound lanes. Traffic will be traveling in a head-to-head configuration for approximately 70 days.
  • Northbound Exit 220 at Barnum will be closed for approximately 10 weeks with exit traffic detoured at Exit 214 through Moose Lake along Hwy 73 and County Road 61 to Barnum.
  • I-35 southbound on-ramp at Barnum will be closed Saturdays at 6 p.m. until Mondays at 7 a.m. to help alleviate large back-ups on I-35 during high traffic levels on the weekends. The weekend closures will be in effect throughout the duration of the I-35 project while there is two-way traffic on the interstate.
