Westbound Interstate 90 exit ramp to Hwy 75 near Luverne closed, detoured starting August 16
MANKATO, Minn. —The westbound I-90 exit ramp to Highway 75 near Luverne will close for construction starting August 16 for approximately two weeks, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour route for the Highway 75 westbound off ramp is Rock County Road 3, Rock County Road 4, to Highway 75.
Westbound I-90 traffic has been shifted to the eastbound lanes since June 14, reducing traffic to a single lane, head-to-head configuration utilizing existing crossovers east of Luverne and west of Beaver Creek.
The westbound exit and entrance ramps at Rock County Road 6 and the entrance ramp from Highway 75 to westbound I-90 have been closed since June 14 but are scheduled to reopen with the removal of the head-to-head configuration later this month. At that time, I-90 traffic will return to normally assigned lanes, with a single lane in each direction to allow work in the center median.
The construction project includes concrete pavement repair on the existing westbound traffic lanes and ramps, reconstructing shoulders, resurfacing the bridge over Rock County Road 11 and drainage improvements. The westbound lanes of I-90 are expected to fully reopen to traffic in early September. Additional I-90 work east of Highway 75 is expected to occur in late September/early October and require a single lane closure on westbound I-90, and a brief two-day (daytime) closure of the Highway 75 off-ramp.
PCiRoads, LLC. was awarded the project with a bid of $4,844,421.70.
