Hwy 14 culvert lining underway between Byron and Kasson, watch for shoulder closures
BYRON, Minn. — Hwy 14 motorists will see shoulder closures along the highway between Byron and Kasson as crews line approximately 20 culverts, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
If motorists are able to move over a lane, please do so when they see crews working on the culverts. Crews will be cleaning the culverts and then sealing them to extend the life of the culverts. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Motorists may encounter lane closures or lane shifts, uneven road surfaces, equipment and other unexpected obstacles when driving near or through work zones. MnDOT advises motorists to:
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times
- Go hands-free and minimize other distractions (e.g., don’t eat or drink while driving
- Follow posted speed limits; the fine for speeding in a work zone is $300
- Avoid making lane changes within work zones
