Local Human Service Transit Plan survey available to riders, providers in SE Minnesota

ROCHESTER, Minn. — People who depend on transportation services in southeast Minnesota are invited to take an online rider survey, and service providers in the 11-county area are also invited to complete a transportation resources survey, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Both surveys are open through Feb. 4, 2022.

The surveys are part of the development of a Local Human Service Transit Coordination Plan in MnDOT District 6 to identify strategies and potential projects to coordinate transit services for elderly, disabled and low-income people in the region.

Rider Survey: Riders who use multiple types of transportation, such as private, agency or local bus/van services, volunteer drivers, family/friend/caregiver drivers, and any type of taxi service, are asked how they get around and when those services are used.

Transportation Resources Survey: Agencies or organizations that provide any form of client or public-facing transportation resources in the region are asked for current information on their services.

The information can be found at mndot.gov/d6/planningandinvolvement.html.

Input from those who use transit and from providers will aid planners in evaluating future transportation needs.

MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all. If you need an ASL, a foreign language interpreter, or other reasonable accommodation, or need the online survey in an alternative format (such as braille or large print), please email your request to ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us or call 651-366-4720.
