MnDOT to host open house for Hwy 59/108 project in Pelican Rapids
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to an open house on Tuesday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., to learn more about the 2024 reconstruction project on Highways 59 and 108 in Pelican Rapids. Participants can come and go as they please to the meeting. Engineers will be available to answer questions. The event will be held at the Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 101 10th Ave. S.E., in Pelican Rapids.
The reconstruction project on Highways 59 and 108 in Pelican Rapids is currently scheduled for construction over two years in 2024 and 2025. It will address pavement concerns, traffic delays, pedestrian and bicyclist accessibility and city utility improvements. The two intersections of Highways 59 and 108 are proposed to become roundabouts.
For those unable to attend the meeting, a virtual option will be on the project webpage from Tuesday, March 15 to April 5. Watch short videos of the project overview and the changes coming to the different areas, before-and-after renderings, project timeline and detours. Visit the project webpage mndot.gov/d4/projects/pelicanrapids.
