No travel advised in portions of west central Minnesota
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — (6 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation has issued a no travel advisory for several state and federal highways in Big Stone, Stevens, Swift, Traverse and Wilkin counties, including Hwy 75 from Wolverton to Ortonville, and Hwy 12 between Ortonville and Hwy 59. View 511mn.org for additional/specific route information.
High winds and blowing snow have created dangerous whiteout conditions and drifting snow. Snowplows continue to operate, but motorists are advised not to travel in these areas until conditions improve.
In addition to the no travel advisory, Hwy 210 remains closed and impassable due to multiple vehicles and drifting snow blocking the roadway, and Highway 55 near Nashua is closed due to a train/semi crash.
