Construction on Highway’s 75 and 175 in Hallock begins June 20

BEMIDJI, Minn. – A Minnesota Department of Transportation construction project on Highway’s 75 and 175 in Hallock begins June 20. It includes resurfacing and pedestrian improvements:

  • Hwy 75 from 10th street to 4th street
  • Hwy 175 from Emerson Ave. to the Two Rivers bridge

 Agassiz Asphalt is the contractor for the $3.4 million dollar project. Motorists can expect lane closures and delays during the project. Construction is scheduled to be completed in October. Start and end dates could change due to weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.

  • Improve snow removal on sidewalks

An additional project near Hallock planned for 2023 includes resurfacing Highway 75 between Hallock and the Canadian border. The 2023 project will also replace three culverts and resurface Highway 171 between Highway 75 and the North Dakota border.

  • Never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones
  • Stay alert; watch for workers and slow-moving equipment
  • Obey posted speed limits; fine for a work zone violation is $300
  • Minimize distractions behind the wheel
  • Be patient and expect delays, especially during peak travel times
