Signal system replacement, ADA improvements begin Monday, June 6 at Silver Lake Road and I-694 in New Brighton
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Installation of two new, upgraded signal systems and construction of upgraded pedestrian/bicycle crossings to meet Americans with Disability standards begin early Monday, June 6 at the interchange of Interstate 694 and Silver Lake Road in New Brighton. The new signal systems are being installed at the north and south ends of the Silver Lake Road bridge crossing I-694. Work also includes drainage improvements and resurfacing of the ramps from westbound I-694 to Silver Lake Road and from Silver Lake Road to eastbound I-694.
As work begins on Monday morning, the ramps from westbound I-694 to Silver Lake Road and from Silver Lake Road to eastbound I-694 will close through mid-July. During the closure, motorists will follow signed detours to Highway 65 and back to the eastbound interstate and to Silver Lake Road. Motorists will also encounter lane closures on Silver Lake Road but the road will remain open during construction.
Weather permitting, all work will be completed by mid-July.
