Open house for Hwy 22 Glencoe resurfacing project is June 30
WILLMAR, Minn. – The public is invited to an in-person construction open house on Thursday, June 30 to learn about the upcoming Highway 22 resurfacing project in Glencoe. The open house will be held at Glencoe City Hall, 1107 11th Street East. There will not be a formal presentation, and everyone is welcome to stop by anytime during the following open house hours.
- Downtown Business Owners – 3 to 4 p.m.
- Glencoe Community – 4 to 6 p.m.
MnDOT staff and the contractor will be available to answer questions about the construction phase of the Hwy 22 project, including the project details and timeline.
Hwy 22 in Glencoe will be resurfaced from U.S. Highway 212 to Cedar Avenue. Existing sidewalk, driveways and pedestrian ramps will be upgraded to current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Portions of existing concrete curb and gutter, as well as underground storm pipe, will be replaced. The project is scheduled to start in July and end in October.
Hwy 22 will be open to two-way traffic during construction; however, drivers will encounter temporary shoulder and lane closures, along with other minor traffic impacts. Pedestrians will encounter temporary sidewalk and ramp closures. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra time and watch for traffic sign instructions and flagging crews.
All businesses and residences will remain accessible during construction. The attached map outlines the project work zone.
MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.
