Construction on Hwy 2 west of Crookston begins July 11

BEMIDJI, Minn. – A Minnesota Department of Transportation construction project on Hwy 2 west of Crookston begins Monday, July 11. It includes resurfacing and turn lane improvement at the following locations:

  • Resurface Hwy 2 westbound lanes between Crookston and Fisher
  • Construct nine new turn lanes and two turn lane extensions on Hwy 2 between Crookston and 3.5 miles west of Fisher

The project will be done under traffic and motorists can expect delays with lane closures and flaggers. Crews will begin constructing the new turn lanes on July 11. Pavement removal on the westbound lanes is scheduled to begin July 18, and traffic will be reduced to single lane, head-to-head on the eastbound lanes. Motorists are reminded to slow down and give construction crews room to work safely.

Agassiz Asphalt is the contractor for the $2.8 million dollar project. Construction is scheduled to be completed by early September. Scheduling could change due to weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.
