Upcoming Interstate 94 ramp closures in downtown Minneapolis
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter two ramp closures on Interstate 94 in downtown Minneapolis over the coming weeks.
Beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 25, the ramp from N. 3rd Street to westbound I-94 will close. The ramp from eastbound I-94 to North Fourth Street will also close in early to mid-August. MnDOT will announce a more specific date for the eastbound I-94 to North Fourth Street ramp closure closer to the start of construction.
Motorists should follow the posted detours below:
- North Third Street to Westbound I-94 entrance ramp detour: Second Avenue to Washington Avenue to the ramp from 22nd Avenue to westbound I-94
- Eastbound I-94 to North Fourth Street exit ramp detour: Eastbound I-94 to Lyndale Avenue to Seventh Street to First Avenue
The ramp closures are needed so crews can make repairs under the bridge.
Both ramps are expected to reopen in early September. All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather dependent and subject to change. MnDOT urges motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destination.
