Hwy 55 will close for one month near Rosemount beginning Sept. 6
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling in both directions of Hwy 55 near Rosemount will encounter a full road closure as crews begin a safety improvement project.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, Hwy 55 will close between County Road 42 and Hwy 52. This closure is necessary as crews construct a dedicated left turn lane on eastbound Hwy 55 at Doyle Path, a dedicated right turn lane and extended acceleration lane for westbound Hwy 55 and repave the road.
Crews should follow the posted detour using County Road 42/145th Street, and Hwy 52 to bypass the closure. A temporary signal has been placed on the detour route to help control traffic in the area. The temporary signal will be removed once crews are done with construction this fall.
All lanes are expected to reopen in early October.
When possible, motorists should avoid cutting through neighborhoods and help keep the community safe by using posted detour routes.
