Highway 287 in Long Prairie open to all travelers
BAXTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is pleased to announce that roadwork on Highway 287 in Long Prairie is complete, and travelers can now enjoy a smoother, safer ride.
The $1.1 million project that began in mid-June focused on a one-mile stretch of Highway 287 (Fourth Avenue S) from Highway 71 to Todd County Road 12. Crews resurfaced the road; updated storm water drainage with new underground pipes and upgraded curbs and gutters; and upgraded sidewalks and pavement markings to make the area safer for both drivers and pedestrians.
Due to material delays, crews will return later this month to install new pedestrian flasher signals at First Street South and Second Street South, east and west of the elementary school.
MnDOT thanks the community and traveling public for their continued patience throughout construction.
