Night work on Hwy 210 through Baxter begins June 16
BAXTER, Minn. – Motorists traveling through Baxter on Hwy 210 can expect crews working 24-7 as overnight paving operations begin Monday, June 16, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Work will occur from 7 a.m. Monday to noon Friday with lane closures, 24-7, on both directions of Hwy 210 through early July. The work will be done in segments, so expect the work area and traffic control to change and move. Slow down and watch for heavy equipment and workers, especially at night when sight distances lessen.
All lanes be open on weekends with some changes to access; follow signs along frontage roads.
MnDOT asks travelers to always slow down when approaching a work zone, then navigate through with care and caution. Other reminders:
- Never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment
- Obey posted speed limits; fine for a work zone violation is $300
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel
When complete in early July, motorists will benefit from a smoother road surface, updated drainage, and improved access and safety along Hwy 210 through Baxter.
