MnDOT shares recommended improvements for Highway 7 from Hopkins to St. Bonifacius
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is sharing recommended safety and mobility improvements for Highway 7 from Hopkins Crossroad in Hopkins to the western Hennepin County line in St. Bonifacius. The recommendations were developed based on an analysis of current road conditions, identified needs within the study area, public feedback and findings from a previous road safety audit.
The public can learn more about the recommended improvements at talk.dot.state.mn.us/hwy7study, where feedback can be provided until Wednesday, Nov. 19.
The public is also invited to learn about the recommendations and provide feedback at community events on Saturday, Nov. 8. More details can be found online. Comments will be reviewed and used to adjust the recommended improvements as needed.
The recommended improvements will inform designs for an upcoming pavement project from east of Mill Street in Shorewood to Wildwood Avenue in St. Bonifacius. After the study is completed, the recommendations will undergo a preliminary design and engineering process, which will include more opportunities for public input.
Recommended improvements from the study that are not a part of this upcoming pavement project will be explored and refined for future projects, where there will also be opportunities for input.
