Public invited to May 13 open house to learn about 2029 Highway 2 improvements between Fosston and Erskine
Bemidji, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the traveling public and local community members to an open house to learn about upcoming 2029 improvements on Highway 2 between Fosston and Erskine.
An open house style meeting will be held on:
- Wednesday, May 13, 2026
- 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
- McIntosh Community Center: 240 Cleveland Ave. SW
There will be no formal presentation, so attendees may arrive and leave at their convenience.
MnDOT will share information about the planned 2029 project, which will resurface approximately 11 miles of westbound Highway 2 between Fosston and Erskine and reconstruct several intersections in McIntosh. Motorists can expect lane closures and delays during construction, but access to homes and businesses will be maintained.
Project benefits include safer intersections, longer-lasting pavement, and a smoother, more reliable roadway. Construction is currently scheduled for summer 2029, with an estimated cost of $6.8 million.
