I-90 off-ramp closures planned May 26 at Stewartville for bridge crack and joint sealing
STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – Interstate 90 motorists intending to exit at Highway 63 north of Stewartville will be detoured on May 26 as crews complete bridge crack and joint sealing on the bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists exiting I-90 at Exit 209A & B should be alert for ramp closures and follow detour signs.
The work will only occur on Tuesday, but it may cause traffic slowdowns for Highway 63 motorists traveling north of Stewartville or south of Rochester because traffic of lane closures. Motorists should watch for flaggers and slow down.
The work is expected to take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Weather conditions may change the schedule.
This is part of a larger project on various state highways in Mower and Olmsted counties with a contractor sealing joints and cracks on a series of bridges.
Work is expected to continue through August. Exact work locations and traffic impacts will be listed on 511mn.org.
Traffic impacts, bridges affected
Sealing work will cause traffic impacts. Most bridges will only have a lane closure during work. The only full bridge and ramp closures will be on the Highway 52/Highway 14 interchange in Rochester. The closures and detours of that interchange will be announced ahead of time.
