Hwy 55–east of Watkins, Kimball, Annandale

Lane closures until mid-October

MnDOT will resurface 14 miles of Hwy 55 and repair or replace underground pipes from Meeker/Stearns county line, between Watkins and Kimball, to Brown Ave. in Annandale; includes the Hwy 55/15/24 intersection in Kimball. Sidewalk updates in South Haven and Kimball. News release

  • Expect alternate one-way traffic through the work zone with flaggers and pilot car (rural areas) on good weather days, sunrise to sunset, Mon-Sat. Add extra time to your commute.
    • October: Periodic lane closures to wrap-up work.

When complete in October, the $4.7 million project will make for a smoother road surface, and will improve motorist and pedestrian safety.

Hwy 55–South Haven

Detour until mid-October

City of South Haven to replace watermain and storm sewer along Hwy 55, Wright County. Work is part of another local project in South Haven.

  • Motorists to encounter a detour on Hwy 55 between South Haven and Kimball. Detour uses Oliver Ave. NW/Wright Co. Rd. 3 (Old Co. Rd. 136) east of South Haven to Wright Co. Rd. 2/Stearns Co. Rd. 7 at Fairhaven and Stearns Co. Rd. 44, back to Hwy 55 in Kimball.
    • Semi-trailer drivers to encounter a truck detour uses that goes south of Hwy 55, follow detour signs. For detour map and current impacts, visit www.511mn.org
    • Access will be maintained, however expect changes.
