About this project
MnDOT plans to reconstruct, improve access and update Hwy 65 through Mora, Kanabec County, in 2030-2031. The project includes new roundabouts and connections, city utilities and pedestrian sidewalk/trail.
The project is in the scoping and early preliminary design phase.
Summary of work
- Reconstruct the road and update city utilities and storm water drainage
- Improve access:
- Construct single-lane roundabouts at:
- Hwy 65/23 and Dala Ln.
- Hwy 65/23 Union St. and Division St.
- Hwy 65/23 and Clark St.
- Hwy 65, Hwy 23 and Forest Ave. E
- Make McLean St. right in/out access
- Realign Portage Ave. and make a right-in/out access
- E Maple Ave. reconstruct access to three-fourth access (right-in/out and a left-turn lane on NB Hwy 65 to WB E Maple Ave.)
- Construct single-lane roundabouts at:
- Construct pedestrian trail/sidewalk along both sides of the highway with enhanced crosswalk signal systems at key locations
- Resurface Hwy 65 north and south of Mora
