Summary of work

In 2028, MnDOT will resurface Highway 76 from Highway 44 to Highway 16 near Houston. Other work includes replacing culverts, guardrail, and minor bridge improvements. The project will provide a smoother road surface and extend the pavement life. It will also improve safety and drainage infrastructure.

Highway 44 resurfacing project

We are planning to MnDOT will resurface Highway 44 from Spring Grove to near Hokah, a nearly 22-mile corridor. At this early stage, the project team is gathering information about the highway. This will help us understand and prioritize what improvements are needed before moving into detailed design and construction in later phases. We have not yet determined when this project will be constructed. Additional information can be found on the project website.
